Tadashi is the newest Asian collection from Red Rooster Fabrics’ Studio. An elegant 24″ x 42″ panel framed with dramatic black borders features three lovely red-crowned cranes, the only crane species that has pure white primary feathers. On the panel, two cranes are at rest and one is in flight among softly colored peonies and classic Asian flowers. Coordinates include an exquisite peony print with a 24″ repeat and gold metallic details. The peonies’ leaves spill gracefully onto a soft cream or deep black ground. There’s also a medium-scale print with peonies and cranes on a cream, red, or black ground. Plum flower medallions, a floral and Sashiko stitch collage, little buds, a traditional circle geometric, and a small floral in gold complete the collection.
Add one or two outer borders from the coordinates to the panel for an easy wall hanging. There are lots of patterns available for using Asian prints in quilts, pillows, table runners, sweatshirts, jackets, and totes. These prints also look great used in traditional pieced patterns including hexagons, stars, pinwheels, nine patches, and square in a square blocks. Frame the beautiful crane and flower panel with your favorite pieced block for a stunning wall hanging. And, try your hand at some lovely Sashiko stitching on the borders to accentuate the Asian theme.
